I grew up in a very conservative, what many would call a Fundamentalist church with 2 parents and four siblings. As a teenager, I kept up the appearance of being a Christian but knew in my heart I had never experienced salvation. After graduating from high school in St. Petersburg, FL, Mr. Miner attended a small Christian college in southern Illinois where his grandparents attended, his parents had met, and where his older brother spent two years. Still keeping up the appearance of being saved, he attended a concert by a Christian group called the Continental Singers, out of California. While he had never heard of the group before, he absolutely loved their music. He knew that the style and content of their music was what he wanted to perform. So he auditioned with them, and lied his way into the group. During the first week of practicing the music and the staging, he finally gave his heart to God and surrendered his life to Jesus. He spent the summer of 1972, and again in 1974, traveling all over America and in several foreign countries performing Christian music. He has been engaged in a teaching ministry since that first summer, and for more than forty-five years has been teaching and discipling others.
